What are the best tattoos on feet?

Tattoos on feet can look fantastic, but you have to make sure you choose the right kind of tattoo or all the pain will be for nothing. You don't want something which just sits there like a blob, I've seen people who have had that and it just doesn't look right! You want something which flows along the side of the foot preferably, let's have a look at my top choices for tattoos on feet:

Flowers

Flowers are so versatile, you can have the stalk/branch/vine or whatever you want to call it, flow around wherever you want it to (look at the 7th image in the gallery for instance) and along the way you can have beautiful and vibrant blooms appear.

You also get an endless choice of different flowers you can have, and you can combine them to give your tattoo even more colour and variety, so flowers are an excellent choice.

Stars

Stars are also very versatile, they are simple and elegant if you don't combine them with anything else. Have a look at the 6th image in the gallery below, you can see that that is really just 3 stars, but it is simple and beautiful, you don't need many stars to really accent an area and make it stand out.
You can also have shooting stars if you want more detail, and then a pattern is usually woven into the 'tail' of the shooting star and the area is filled with colour. You can choose the path of the star so you could have one of those going along the side of your foot

Lettering

Another favourite is to have lettering down the side of the foot, you could have a favourite quote, or part of some text that means a lot to you. Just make sure you double-check the text before they put the template on you and start working, you might think it seems silly to question the tattoo artist and it will be ok, but if they miss a letter off then you can't just hit the delete key and add it in afterwards…

Chinese symbols

These can be very simple and beautiful too like the stars, I think the one in the gallery below is maybe a bit of a 'blob' as it is on the top of the foot and quite big, but a single symbol or couple of little symbols on the side of the foot can look really good. Be wary of buying symbols from tattoo shops though or copying a symbol a friend has, I would much rather find a Chinese person online and ask them to provide you with the symbol for whatever you are after (then ask a different person to translate it too just to be sure!).

That way you know you are getting the genuine article and you don't find out in 10 years time you thought you had the symbol for 'fire' but in fact it is 'car' or something like that.

Conclusion

So there you have some ideas for your new foot tattoo, you don't have a lot of space to work with when getting tattoos on feet, so make sure you choose wisely, and preferably draw it onto yourself in biro first and have a look at it. You might feel silly at the time, but if it helps you choose and stops you making a mistake then it is well worth it!

Good luck!
